One Bike

Who we are
One Bike, a community-based, social enterprise of bicycle enthusiasts located in the vicinity of Mount Kilimanjaro. Our Mission
The mission of One Bike is to support and improve the lives of people in Tanzania by using bicycles to empower them to live healthy lifestyles, build strong communities, and save our environment. Our Vision
Our vision is to build a strong community by

using bicycles to raise awareness on environment and responsible tourism in Tanzania. What we are doing

• Youth training Workshops
• Education
• Healthcare
• Re-Cycling tour
• Kilimanjaro MTB experience

Youth training workshop

We train and support youth from the community in our bicycle workshop where by youth are equipped with necessary knowledge and skills for bicycle maintenance and repair with the aim of unleashing their potential and develop their ability so that they can help themselves and the community around. When they graduate repair and maintenance skills and knowledge (entrepreneurial skills) enable them to establish their own repair and maintenance workshop and earn individual income and serve the community in need

Education

We also support child education as we believe that when you educate a child you help to build a better future for the community since it’s through education that we get future leaders, technician and other figures which are crucial for community development. Therefore we visit schools and educational institution and give our support to students in need and also arrange teaching volunteer for them from our volunteers. It’s through our cycling invert and activities that we raise fund for support of education. Healthcare

We also intend to prevent our communities from serious diseases such as stroke, heart attack, some cancer, depression, diabetes, obesity and arthritis etc. It’s also our objective to make a difference and encourage a healthier community. Therefore we can promote health in a community by encouraging cycling exercise and giving support to sick people by visiting them in their homes or hospitals and support them with basic needs and bring smile on their faces. Re-Cycling Tour

An environmentally friendly initiative that has one goal, to clean the trash off the street of moshi by “cycling to recycle”. Every weekend a cycling critical mass movement start a tour in moshi town, from the small shop of One Bike, during the tour, a group of cyclists belonging to the One Bike community will go forward by collecting trash from the streets, using the special backpacks tailor-made from recycled materials. Then the garbage will be sent to the recycling facilities. Kilimanjaro MTB experience

We also run several unique, cultural-adventure cycling tours around the Kilimanjaro region to engage foreign travelers and to provide them with opportunities to give back to the local communities. On our single- and multi-day trips, we visit local villages and stop into the schools to tell students who we are and what we do, with the hope that they will join us in protecting the environment and leading healthy lifestyles. This also gives us the opportunity to assess the needs of the community to see if One Bike can assist.

Tour de Kilimanjaro, Day 7. No big climb, no dramatic descent — just a long loop through Maasai country that reminds you why you came. Narrow paths through scattered villages, goats and cattle on the track, the occasional giraffe watching from a distance. The kind of riding where you slow down not because you have to, but because you want to take it all in. Back at Osiligilai by sunset, already talking about tomorrow.

Tour de Kilimanjaro, Day 6 — and there’s a reason this one stays with people long after the trip is over. Wide open skies, red earth tracks, giraffes moving silently across the ridge. Children running alongside the bikes, Maasai elders watching from the hill. It’s not just a ride through the landscape — it’s a ride through a living, breathing world. Ending the day at Osiligilai Maasai lodge feels like the only right way to close it.
