The saxophone is one of the woodwind instruments, although it is made of metal. In sound, structure and shape it is similar to a clarinet. In its upper part there is a mouthpiece in the shape of a bird's beak. Attached to the mouthpiece is a thin reed reed called a reed. When the saxophonist blows air into the instrument, the reed vibrates and causes the instrument to sound.

The saxophone received its name from the name of its inventor, master Adolphe Sax. The saxophone has seven varieties, but four of them are most often used: soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophone.
