Tired of scrolling through hundreds of emails just to follow up on job applications? Here’s a quick Gmail filter that solves this no scrolling required.

Set it up in under a minute:

1. Click the gear icon (top right) → See all settings
2. Go to the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab
3. Click Create a new filter
4. In the Subject field, type “Application,” then click Create filter
5. Check Mark as important, then click Create filter

That’s it. Every email with “Application” in the subject line will now be automatically marked as important and surface in your inbox’s Important section making it easy to find and follow up on every application at a glance.
