More good fishing reports have come in this week from anglers visiting our local northeast TN and southwest VA mountain streams and all are reporting seeing lots of Quill Gordons mayfly hatches!

Here’s yesterday’s picture of that natural mayfly from the middle fork of the Holston near Marion VA. sent by one of our shop staff members and here is a picture of the Quill Gordon imitation from our shop’s fly bins.

The Quill Gordon hatch will last another couple of weeks; then we will be looking for an even larger mayfly, called the March Brown.

Our early spring hatches of mayflies, caddis flies and stoneflies are occurring in our southwest VA and northeast TN mountain streams. Here are some of last week’s streamside pictures from our customers. We have a great selection of streamers, nymph and dry fly patterns for our early spring fishing. Stop in matches hatch and we are glad to help you with directions to streams in our area.
