Hello Everyone!!

Happy Tax-Free Weekend in our beautiful state of Massachusetts!! 🙌😍 (fyi: all purchases are tax free this Sat 8/8-Sun 8/9!)

I am finally recovering my sanity (and energy) after a big quilt show last week in Cape Cod.

I’m not gonna lie: I have a reeeallly hard time being public when I feel overwhelmed by tasks, or on more positively when I’m in the thick of deeply creative work.

Plus, the shop is just plain busy!! 😃🙏💝

But I wanted to post some of the really just splendid new things we have in the shop…

Besides some absolutely gorgeous fabric lines, we have new buttons! And patterns! And panels!

Seriously, it has been so fun to build this place. I love seeing the excitement on our customers’ faces when they find the perfect thing.

(It’s the *best* part of my job!!)

Our “Handloom” collection by tara faughnan is expanding! I can easily tell you this line is totally gorgeous, but I’m not the only one. It is our most popular fabric right now, and we are building the entire collection of 65 colors! 🌈🌈🌈

“Rhapsody” by Anna Maria Textiles is… lush. Yummy. Gobble-able. We’ve used it in bags, quilts, tops, all the things. 💖

This panel from Little House Cottons stopped me in my tracks when I saw it. It’s organic cotton lawn, about 56” square, and I’ve slowly been hand-quilting as time allows. 😍😍😍

Oh, right, the Shop Hop Inc. is coming this September and Oct!! We have limited quantity of magazines, which are also passports.

I have no idea what to expect, but I can’t wait to welcome folks into this little corner of colorful creative contagious goodness.

Do you know a creative kid who would love to learn how to sew?

Then come to Stitch Camp, starting July 20th at the Fab Lab in Acton! 💫

We have a *few spots left* for our Kids Stitch Camp, taking place in our bright and sunny makerspace. Kids learn to use a sewing machine, practice hand-sewing and embroidery skills, and create colorful and personal projects that they will be so proud to say they made themselves.

Limited to only four campers, everyone gets plenty of individual guidance and encouragement in a relaxed, creative environment.

By the end of camp, kids will have the skills, handmade projects they are proud of, and joyful confidence to keep creating at home. ✨

I spent last night hacking and slashing and piecing my way through this odd little thing.

I had made some strip pieces many many months ago, not at all sure what they would be.

When my husband walked into the room and saw me cutting, he exclaimed, “what are you making?!”

And I replied: “ART.”

I don’t know what I’m doing at most points during the day. But I’ve been leaning into doing that on purpose.

I like how it feels!

Oh Lord the new Handloom line by tara faughnan has started to drop, and it dropped into my waiting longing arms at the Fab Lab, and I’m kinda speechless.

(Which is hard for me. 😘)

It’s always lovely to get in a new line, but I gotta tell you I think this one has given me the most butterflies so far? ⚡️😍

I’m going to have the QuiltCon 2027 Fabric Challenge colors bundled up for you, in case you want to give that a try.

Can’t wait to see the rest of the colors and quilt kits that are come in, too. Lemme take a breath first.

Hey colorful friends! 🌈🤩

I had a serendipitous moment this morning when I walked into the shop today and I saw I had these ice dye samples right next to my open book of Helen Frankenthaler’s paintings. ⚡️

I picked up the book at my local library the other day, and something told me I should have a good look while I was taking a break from shop stuff. 🎨

(How does art talk to you?? Books are my spiritual love language.✨)

Here’s a cute quilt pattern I whittled down for an adorable throw pillow you can make in a fraction of the time. ⚡️

I wanted to feature the mod summery beach vibe of ’s Poolside Too, and grabbed:

✨ a mini charm pack 🏝️
✨ white strips from a jelly roll I had lying around
✨ coordinating fabric for 1) backing and 2) binding, and
✨ pillow insert from IKEA

I used the free Undulating Vibes quilt pattern from which fit the mood perfectly, made a scrummy iced tea (it was hot out), and got myself to work.

Working with color is the best. Sometimes when you’re slogging through—I mean working on—a large quilt project, I like to give myself a reprieve and have a relatively quick but rewarding project that’s pure fun. 🌈

This one fit the bill perfectly! ☀️🍹💖

Now back to the other quilts…

New arrivals that bring me joy!! 💖

Things that light me up are not always the craziest colors (which to be fair is always true), or the brightest shades. 🌈

Fabrics with elegant style, artfulness, beautiful feel, thoughtful design, and wonderful energy also give us inspiration.

Not simply for what we can make, but for how we will feel, and who we will be, when we inhabit and live with the things we create.

One of the reasons I opened the Fab Lab was to create a more intentional wardrobe, so it’s very cool to see some new garment fabrics flowing into the shop!

Perhaps joy is a lifestyle?

I love sourcing joyful things: we all need more beauty and inspiration and resonance in our lives!

We’ve been planning this workshop for months, and now it’s finally here! 🌈🙌

Our creative crafty maven Cynthia at is leading Ice Dye workshops on Saturday, May 30th!

You will learn how to use the most gorgeous colors to dye your own (adorbs) ruffle tote and kitchen towel.

Plus, have an amazing time feasting your eyes on luscious colors, get yours hands dirty with some art-making, and maybe even make some new friends. 💖
