Want to donate to our cause? Read below!

At the Sleep in Heavenly Peace Akron Delivery Hub, we believe real change begins with people like you! Every act of kindness, every dollar donated, and every moment volunteered brings us closer to our goal. Together, we can help end child bedlessness right here in the 46910 zip code area and local school communities.

Here’s how you can help power our mission:
🛏️ Donate – Every dollar makes a difference. Your contribution helps us reach our goal of providing 40 beds for children in need ($250/bed). We also gladly accept brand-new twin-size bedding sets, sheet sets, and pillows to ensure every child receives a complete, comfortable bed. Please use this link to make any monetary donations: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/akron-delivery-hub-sleep-in-heavenly-peace

Make sure to choose the option you would like to donate. It will ask you to donate a percentage back to Zeffy… just click the “other option” and enter 0 to avoid any extra fees.

📣 Share – Spread the word with friends, family, and on social media. Your voice helps amplify our impact.
👐 Volunteer – Give your time and talents! Join us for a Bed Build Day on August 8th, 2026, at the Akron Community Center, from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM. Anyone of any age can join us and tools, instruction, and fun are all provided! No experience is necessary.

Thank you for standing with us. Your support is truly invaluable, and together, we can ensure every child has a safe, comfortable place to sleep.

On June 4th, the club proudly presented the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award to Lion Channing Utter in recognition of his outstanding dedication and service.

The Melvin Jones Fellowship Award is one of the highest honors bestowed by Lions Clubs International. Named after Melvin Jones, the founder of Lions Clubs International, the award recognizes individuals who exemplify humanitarian service and make a lasting impact on their communities.

After being recruited by his sponsor, late Lion Brian Potter, Lion Channing has been a dedicated member of the Akron Lions Club for 23 years, consistently embodying the Lions' motto, “We Serve.” Throughout his years of membership, he has played an active role in numerous club fish fry fundraisers and has generously contributed his time and talents to the upkeep of the Akron Community Center. His willingness to serve, lead by example, and support local initiatives has benefited countless community members.

Lion Channing’s unwavering commitment, servant leadership, and passion for helping others makes him highly deserving of this distinguished honor. The Akron Lions Club is proud to recognize his many years of service and the positive difference he continues to make in the community.
