Yesterday the spring equinox happened, (while most of us were sleeping), and our days will be growing longer and getting warmer! Another sure sign of spring is the return of many varieties of birds to our region. We all become bird watchers, and a wonderful way to watch and enjoy our "fine feathered friends" is to attract them to your own back yard.

Cranes and Crows Birding and Nature Shop invites you to stop by and check out our selection of bird houses, bird feeders, bird baths and accessories, hummingbird feeders, suet and suet feeders, seed cakes, seed balls, and our wide variety of bird seed including black oil sunflower, hulled sunflower chips, nyjer seeds, white proso millet, and more! - FREE delivery of seed in the Alamosa area.

We also carry a wide range of birding and bird-related books for the bird lover in all of us.

Stop by and see these and other great nature inspired items...and don't forget to say "Hi" to Bailey while you're here! Remember: at Cranes and Crows it's "Always a Field Trip!"

Friends: Please join us tonight for a lecture and slide show on "Owls of Colorado". The Colorado Field Institute invites the public to its third winter lecture of the 2013 season tonight, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in room 142 in the School of Business Building located on the Adams State University campus.

Author and host John J. Rawinski will share his keen insight into the fascinating life and biology of these amazing creatures, with specific references to the San Luis Valley. The lecture will address the owl's unique features and physiology that allow these predators to hunt and sense prey at night. Breeding season and owl predation will also be discussed as well as conservation measures needed to keep owl populations healthy. John has been doing this program throughout the state of Colorado for many years, from conventions to classrooms. John will also demonstrate and vocalize many of the owl's calls. Come and enjoy this night for the owls! We hope to see you there!
