Now this is ☀️ SOLAR POWER ☀️

We are using the power of the sun to heat things up under the tarp. This process is called solarization and it’s helping us get ready for our fall crops and cover crops. With a little tlc afterwards, this area will be ready to produce some rainbow corn, pumpkins and cover crops for the following year!!😆 🌽

How does the saying go? Something like “watching the water won’t make it boil faster”…

We’re over here impatiently waiting for these beauties to bloom!! I sure love zinnias but there’s just something special about dahlias. This is a first year experience and I must say, I’m so happy to be diving into the beautiful world of dahlias!! They are going to be stunning 🤩 stay tuned for more about our dahlia patch!!! 💐

A sweet friend brought me some really good reading material and I am so excited to dig into it! Our last growing season taught us that pest management is an important part in the overall health of the farm. We look forward to incorporating organic methods of management to our crops. I know it’s scary to see temps below freezing, but leave your bags outside!! Your soil should be frozen or close to it. This is GOOD! Over the next weeks/months, it will freeze and thaw. All good and part of the process!
