Last summer I bought some closeout fiber in a 60% seacell (a kind of tencel that is just a little bit softer and dreamier than regular tencel), 40% merino wool blend, and quickly became obsessed with how pretty it looked dyed and how soft and nice the resulting handspun yarn felt and looked. I can't get anymore of that stuff, so I've settled for offering a 60% tencel (almost as dreamy as seacell), 40% extra fine merino roving, and I'm still obsessed. Tencel, being a cellulose-based fiber, doesn't take up acid based dyes, so it creates this water-color kind of effect with the wool. Like my flax blend, this one is really nice for light garments. All the shades I currently have dyed are listed in my Etsy shop: http://woolspinewe.etsy.com.
