Get a jump start on spooky season and join in the fun as we make the quilted Spellbound Witches Hat. Your hat will finish at approximately 16” tall x 24” wide.

Your class fee includes the pattern by Melissa Mortenson, soft and stable, and interfacing. You will receive an email prior to class with cutting instructions.

Class Supplies:
¾ yards of main fabric. If you are using a directional print and the design does not run parallel to the selvage you will need 1 and ¼ yards.
¾ yard of lining fabric
1 fat quarter for a bias binding (to match the lining)
½ yard of contrasting fabric for the binding of the outer brim and the sash

Basic Sewing Supplies:
-Machine in good working order
-Rotary cutter and cutting mat
-Straight ruler for cutting fabric
-Marking tool
-Scissors
-Pins and binding clips

Have fun making these useful zippered containers that work great for holding pens, pencils, sewing supplies, knitting supplies, etc. You can choose from one of two sizes to make in class. The small measures 8 ½”H x 3 ½” W x 3 ½” D, the large 14 ½” x 5 ½” x 5 ½” D.

When open, the cases convert into desktop stands by folding down their tops, allowing easier access and visibility of contents without sacrificing stability. Mesh pockets on the inside help organize supplies.

Each case zips shut for safe and secure storage. The outside of either case may be embellished with an optional ribbon border.

The class fee includes:
Soft and Stable
Fusible Interfacing
Mesh Fabric
Zippers
Fole Over Elastic

Fabric Requirements:
For the small-
Main Fabric 1 fat quarter
Lining Fabric 1 fat quarter (lining of case, gusset, and bindings.)
For the large-
Main Fabric ½ yard
Lining Fabric ½ yard (lining of case, gusset, and bindings.)

Basic sewing supplies:
Thread
Scissors
rotary cutter and mat
pins and or binding clips marking tools
