This is surely sad to see. This fine machine has been a woodworking staple for decades. Mine is from 1983 and my dad got his in 1955. It’s been my primary tool for every instrument I’ve built or repaired over the last 25 years. Hope someone acquires it and brings it back to life.😢

Wanted to post another helpful hint. If you use much super glue (cyanoacrylate), you know the shelf life is pretty short. You can extend this at least 3x by storing the bottles in a sealed mason jar…putting each bottle in a small baggie helps even more. Storing your super glue this way is ESPECIALLY helpful if you ever use/store accelerator anywhere in the vicinity. (This trick works just as well with Gorilla Glue if you put the bottle in the jar upside down.)

I posting this as a sort of PSA for stringed instrument players. I went on multiple forums and sent emails to several places trying to get a direct answer but no luck. Hopefully this will help someone else out there looking.

I’ll begin by saying that any product I mention, I paid for. No sponsorships or free trial goodies. I downloaded the Peterson iStrobosoft app , Fender Tune app and Pro Guitar Tuner app to my iPhone. All three work pretty much as advertised, and all three use the phone microphone.

Functional but I was looking for a way to isolate the signal from my guitars. I ended up buying a first generation IK Multimedia brand iRig ($5 to $25 on eBay) and you have to have a TRRS to Lightning Adapter (there’s several different brands…around $19 on Amazon). With this equipment you can plug your electric guitar directly into your iPhone and bypass the microphone when using tuner apps. Also works with the piezo pickup clip for acoustic guitars.

The photos are just as a reference for what I use. Works great for me.
