Warm summer weather is expected throughout the week.

Friday: Warm with a chance of scattered afternoon thunderstorms.
Saturday & Sunday: Excellent fishing weather with light winds and comfortable temperatures.
Monday & Tuesday: Hot and humid with afternoon storm chances. Fish early morning or late evening.
Wednesday & Thursday: Slightly cooler with improving conditions and excellent opportunities to get back on the water.

🎣 LOCAL FISHING REPORT

🌊 Lake Ontario
King salmon, steelhead, brown trout, and lake trout continue to provide excellent opportunities. Watch for temperature breaks and bait schools as offshore fishing continues to improve.

🏞️ Oak Orchard River
Smallmouth bass, carp, catfish, and panfish remain active. Early mornings and evenings continue to produce the best bite.

🐟 Lake Alice
Largemouth bass, northern pike, crappie, perch, and bluegill continue feeding around w**d edges, channels, and structure.

🌿 Johnson Creek • Sandy Creek • Marsh Creek
Bass, northern pike, and panfish remain active around w**d beds, current breaks, and shoreline cover.

🚤 Erie Canal
A great option for largemouth bass, pike, perch, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and carp. Target bridges, docks, and w**d edges.

🌾 Glenwood Lake • Carlton Pond • Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge Waters
Excellent opportunities for bass, panfish, and northern pike throughout the week.

Saturday, June 27 – Wednesday, July 1

If you’re planning to fish Orleans County over the next several days, here’s what anglers can expect:

🌊 Lake Ontario
The offshore salmon bite continues to build with king salmon, steelhead, lake trout, and brown trout all available. Kings are being found over deeper water, while brown trout continue producing during the first few hours of daylight. Spoons, flasher/fly combinations, and meat rigs have all been taking fish.

🐟 Oak Orchard River
The river has slowed with summer water temperatures, but smallmouth bass continue to provide excellent action. Look for fish around current breaks, deeper holes, and structure using tubes, Ned rigs, and soft plastics.

🎣 Lake Alice
Largemouth bass fishing remains steady around w**d edges, lily pads, and submerged timber. Bluegill and crappie are keeping anglers busy, making Lake Alice a great destination for families.

🌿 Erie Canal
Bass, pike, and panfish continue to bite throughout the canal system. Early morning and evening hours have been the most productive, especially around bridge pilings, docks, and w**d lines.

☀️ Weather Outlook
Warm summer weather will keep fish active during the early morning and evening hours. Midday anglers should target deeper water or shaded cover as water temperatures continue to rise.

💡 Woody’s Tip of the Week
With warmer water temperatures, get on the water early. Start shallow at first light, then move deeper as the sun climbs. Keep a variety of spoon colors, flashers, and soft plastics ready—fish can change their preferences quickly this time of year.
