We are going to be sharing reviews by our friend Erin. Erin is an avid reader of all books, and shares some pretty solid book recs. I hope you enjoy her recommendations as much as we do, starting with this 5-star read:
If there’s one thing Liz Tomforde is going to do, it’s make me fall headfirst into a man who is emotionally unavailable for approximately 32% of the book and then somehow convince me I would, in fact, die for him by the final chapter.
In Her Own League was an absolute gem of a romance — steamy, sharp, funny, and packed with that addictive tension Tomforde does so well. The enemies-to-lovers banter? Top tier. The age gap dynamic? Deliciously done without ever feeling forced. And the chemistry between Reese and Monty practically needed its own fire extinguisher.
But Reese? Reese stole the entire show for me. I love a strong female lead, and this book delivered. Smart, capable, confident, and emotionally mature — the only childish thing about her was the nickname “Reese’s Pieces,” and honestly, even that grew on me. She held her own in every scene and never felt overshadowed by the romance, which made me root for her even harder.
And getting to catch up with Kai, Miller, Kennedy, and the rest of the Windy City crew felt like running into old friends at a slightly chaotic family reunion where everyone is hot and emotionally complicated.
Liz Tomforde has officially mastered the formula of giving readers swoony men, strong women, tension so thick you could spread it on toast, and enough emotional payoff to make you immediately start the next book at 1:12 a.m. with zero self-control.
Five stars. No notes. Well… one note: I now need the next book immediately.
