Triple F Elite Sports Training Opens Blount County Location at Midland Plaza

ALCOA, Tenn. — Triple F Elite Sports Training, founded by retired 11-year NFL veteran Lee Smith, is opening a new Blount County location at Midland Plaza in Alcoa.

The new facility, located at 252 S. Calderwood St., Alcoa, will celebrate its opening on Monday, Sept. 21, with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. An open house will follow from 5–9 p.m., giving the community an opportunity to tour the facility, meet the Triple F team and learn more about its training programs. Snacks, refreshments and giveaways will also be available.

Triple F Elite Sports Training was founded by Lee Smith, a Powell native who spent 11 seasons in the National Football League as a tight end, including time with the Buffalo Bills, Oakland Raiders and Atlanta Falcons.

Following his retirement from professional football, Smith turned his attention to helping young athletes by providing access to professional-level training, resources and mentorship.

Triple F’s original Knoxville facility is located at 4900 Guinn Road. The 12,000-square-foot training facility serves athletes and families throughout the Knoxville area and established the training model now expanding into Blount County.

The new Midland Plaza location also has a personal connection for Smith and his family, who now call Blount County home.

Triple F offers athletic development programs for a variety of ages, including Future Pro for ages 7–11, Youth Training for ages 12–18 and Adult Training for ages 18 and older. Its training programs focus on areas including strength, conditioning, speed, power and long-term athletic development.

The organization describes its mission as providing professional-level athletic development in a Christ-centered environment while helping athletes develop both on and off the field.

The public is invited to attend the Sept. 21 ribbon cutting and open house at Triple F Elite Sports Training, 252 S. Calderwood St., Alcoa.
