🐟 Under the Sea & Under the Heat! ☀️🌡️
Let’s talk summer installations and setups! This design was easily one of our absolute favorites, but it definitely tested every single ounce of our determination.
Who’s ready for a quick story time?
First and foremost, we had the absolute honor of working with the most incredible event planner and clients to bring this magical "Under the Sea" theme to life, all on a fast tracked, few days timeline! We were so excited and beyond grateful for their trust in us🩷
Then... installation day arrived😅
The truck thermometer clocked in at 117 degrees, officially the hottest day of the year and our main backdrop was set to sit in direct, blistering sunlight at the absolute peak heat of the day.
If you’re a fellow balloon artist, you already know the sheer panic that sentence induces!
Here’s how the afternoon unfolded:
The Trek: My watch tracked over a full mile just walking back and forth to unload all the decor.
The Priority: It was so overwhelmingly hot that my sweet assistant suffered sever heat exhaustion right after unloading. We immediately stopped everything, left the site to get her the care she needed, and made sure she was safe and recovering. (Thank God she is okay now! Heart is so full of gratitude for her safety)
🪜 The Grit: Once she was safely taken care of, I returned to the site solo to finish the install, facing metal ladders burning to the touch, balloons starting to pop in the blistering heat, and a race against the clock. At this point I had less than one hour to complete all of the balloon work totally solo! Between needing to be everywhere at once and moving as fast as humanly possible, I’m pretty sure I wasn’t even walking anymore, I must have been levitating to get it all done! 😂
So, what do you do when every single thing that could go wrong decides to go wrong all at once?
You keep going and you pull it off!!!💪🏽🏁
Even when the heat made the balloons almost untouchable, quitting simply wasn't an option. As professionals, our promise to our clients comes first, no matter what nature throws our way.
The best part? Our clients had no idea what was happening behind the scenes. Everything was completed right on time, and seeing their faces light up made every single sweat drop completely worth it! 🥹🩵
As someone who takes immense pride in every detail, there are always tiny things I would love to tweak, but I couldn't be prouder of this finish. It’s a gentle reminder of why hiring experienced professional vendors truly matters!
