Good morning everyone! Here’s an Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom SJ-200 Prewar that was on th bench in February for a setup. This guitar belongs to Mr. Justin Lucas. After adjusting the truss rod to have around .006” worth of relief I removed the old strings and cleaned the guitar thoroughly using Musc Nomad products throughout. While I had the strings off I rounded off the sharp edges of the bone nut for a more comfortable playing experience. Afterwards I installed a new set of Elixir Nanoweb Light 12-53 and tuned up to pitch. I ended up having to lower all six of the nut slots. They are now sitting at .020” (E/A), .018” (D/G), and .016” (B/E). After removing smaller amount of material from the bottom of the saddle this setup was complete! The action is now sitting at 5/64”-4/64” (Bass to Treble). I’m sure Mr. Lucas was excited to have his newest guitar playing as it was intended!

Good morning everyone! Here’s a Fender American Professional II HSS Stratocaster and a Gibson Les Paul Studio that were on the bench in February for setups. The Stratocaster belongs to Mr. Ethan Lumpkin and the Les Paul belongs to his father, Mr. Jody Lumpkin.

Once I removed the old strings from the Stratocaster I cleaned the guitar thoroughly using Music Nomad products throughout. After the cleaning I installed a new set of Elixir Optiweb Light 10-46 strings and adjusted the truss rod to have around .003” worth of relief. Afterwards I set the action, intonation, and pickup heights. After the setup the action is sitting at 4/64” across the 12th fret an its playing in tune up and down the fretboard.

Next up was the Les Paul. This one had some buzzing issues going on around the middle of the fretboard. Once I adjusted the truss rod to have around .005” worth of relief, the buzz was gone. When this guitar came off the line Gibson didn’t have the neck straight before they slotted the nut. Once I adjusted the neck to have the proper amount of relief this caused the nut slots to be too low. I took care of this issue by shaping and installing a new bone nut. Fee free to take a look at that process in the photos below. After getting the new nut installed I put on a set of Elixir Optiweb Light 10-46 strings and set the action, intonation, and pickup heights. After the nut install, the buzzing issues are a thing of the past and with the setup the action is now sitting at 4/64” across the 12th fret and it’s playing in tune up and down th fretboard.

I’m sure Ethan and Mr. Jody were excited to have their guitars back playing and sounding their absolute best!

Good morning everyone! Here’s an Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom Jimi Hendrix Flying V that was on the bench in February for a setup. This guitar belongs to Mr. Michael Richardson. After removing the old strings I cleaned the guitar thoroughly using Music Nomad products throughout. After the cleaning I installed a new set of Elixir Optiweb Medium 11-49 strings and set the action, intonation, and pickup heights. After the setup the action is sitting at 4/64” across the 12th fret and it’s playing in tune up and down the fretboard. I’m sure Michael was excited to have his newest acquisition playing the way he wants it to!

Good morning everyone! Here’s a Martin D-27 that was on the bench in January for a pickup install. The owner decided to go with the Fishman Matrix Infinity VT undersaddle pickup. After removing the endpin and teaming out the tailblock to accept the endpin jack I drilled a hole in the saddle slot to accept the undersaddle pickup. Martin makes this painless by pre drilling a small locator hole in the slot for precise location. After wiring the pickup into the preamp and installing it I put on a new set of Martin Phosphor Bronze Custom Light 11-49 and tuned up to pitch. After removing some material from the bottom of the saddle to compensate for the undersaddle pickup, this install was complete! The Fishman pickup sounds absolutely phenomenal. I’m sure the owner was super excited to now have the ability to use his guitar for plugged in performances!

Good morning everyone! Here’s a custom built dreadnought that was on the bench in January for a new bone nut. The original had worn down to the point of buzzing at the first fret. Feel free to take a look at the process of shaping and installing the new bone nut in the photos below! After the new nut was in place the action at the first fret is now .020” (E/A), .018” (D/G), and .016” (B/E). The buzzing issues that it came in with are now a thing of the past. I know the owner was excited to have his guitar back playing and sounding its best!

Good morning everyone! Here’s a Schecter Omen Extreme bass that was on th bench in January for a setup. This bass belongs to Mr. Hunter Cottle. After removing the old strings I cleaned the guitar thoroughly using Musc Nomad products throughout. After the cleaning I installed a new set of DR Black Beauties 45-105 and set the action, intonation, and pickup heights. After the setup the action is sitting at 5/64” across the 12th fret and it’s playing in tuneup and down the fretboard. I’m sure Hunter was excited to have his newest bass playing and sounding its absolute best!

Good morning everyone! Here’s a Norman 12 String and a Danelectro Sitar that were on th bench in January for setups. These guitars belong to Mr. Ryan Downing.

The Norman needed the truss rod adjusted right off the bat. After getting it squared away I removed the old strings and cleaned it thoroughly using Music Nomad products throughout. After the cleaning I installed a new set of Martin Phosphor Bronze 10-47 strings and tuned up to pitch. After getting th saddle squared away and the strings retuned the action is sitting at 6/64”-4/64” (Bass to Treble).

Next up was the Danelectro Sitar. After removing the old strings I cleaned the sitar thoroughly using Music Nomad products throughout. After the cleaning I installed 13 .010 Elixir Optiweb strings for the drones and a set of Elixir Optiweb Medium 11-49 strings for the main six. After adjusting the truss rod to achieve the proper amount of relief I adjusted the bridge itself to get more “rattle”. After the setup the action is now sitting at 5/64” across the 12th fret.

I’m sure Ryan was super excited to have these instruments back in tip top playing shape!

Good morning everyone! Here’s a Martin D-28 that was on the bench in January for a pickup install. This guitar belongs to Mr. Eric Ponder. Mr. Eric decided to got with a JourneyTek EP001K bridge plate mounted pickup in place of the Fishman Matrix Infinity that was installed in this guitar originally. The new JourneyTek pickup does away with the need for a battery and pickups like this do an excellent job of recreating the natural sound of an acoustic guitar while being amplified. Feel free to take a look at the install process in th photos below. Being as the original pickup was an undersaddle style pickup I installed a new saddle to make up for the loss of height the undersaddle pickup provided. The new pickups sounds great and now there’s no need to worry about a battery going dead mid performance. I’m sure Mr. Eric was excited to get his guitar back and put it through its paces!

Good morning everyone! Here’s a Gibson SG Standard that was on the bench in January for new tuning machines and a setup. The owner wanted to replace the original Grover tuning machines with the more traditional looking Gibson Deluxe tuning machines. After getting the new tuning machines installed I cleaned the guitar thoroughly using Music Nomad products throughout. After the cleaning I installed a new set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky 9-42 strings and set the action, intonation, and pickup heights. After the setup the action is sitting at 4/64” across the 12th fret and it’s playing in tune up and down the fretboard. I’m sure the owner was excited to have this SG looking and playing its absolute best!

Good morning everyone! Here’s and Ibanez Soundgear bass that was on the bench in December of last year for a setup. This bass was purchased as a Christmas gift by Mr. Brandon Cumbie for his son Zander. After removing the old strings I loosened the truss rod and l cleaned the bass using Music Nomad products throughout. After the cleaning I installed a new set of DR Black Beauties 45-105 and tuned up to pitch. After adjusting the truss rod to the proper amount of relief under string tension I set the action, intonation, and pickup heights. After the setup the action is sitting at 5/64” across the 12th fret and it’s playing in tune up and down the fretboard. I’m sure Zander was super excited to get this gift and put it through its paces!

Good morning everyone! Here’s a Martin 00DB Jeff Tweedy model that was on the bench in December of last year for a new saddle. This guitar belongs to Mr. Kasey Kaschak. Mr. Kasey is a soundhole pickup fan, so, when the original undersaddle pickup was removed, it left the existing saddle too low. This caused some unwanted buzzing issues while playing. I installed a new Martin bone saddle, and, after removing the proper amount of material from the bottom, the action was spot on. While I had the strings off I flipped the ears on the Sunrise pickup so it would sit in the soundhole a little better. I know Mr. Kasey was excited to have oneif his newest acquisitions back playing its best!
