We were in Afghanistan for 20 years. It's hard to forget how much Operation Enduring Freedom shaped modern tactical gear and defined the military itself. Over the years of coalition forces being in Afghanistan, many units were allowed to privately purchase gear that they needed to fill holes in their kit. Many veterans have stories of buying holsters, pouches, and other kit as they needed it from the Bazaars on and off the bases in country. One of the most timeless items in our opinion is the Black Ops Kandahar Plate Carrier. These were used extensively by US Special Forces, British SAS and German KSK among plenty of other coalition forces.

Black Ops Kandahar was a smaller shop based out of Kandahar Province that made all types of gear that was primarily marketed towards coalition members but anyone in Afghanistan was able to buy it. There was not a lot of domestic manufacturing in Afghanistan but when there's a need, there will be someone to find a way to cater to those needs. The gear made by Black Ops Kandahar and other manufacturers like Dawood Shams and some luggage companies really wasn't all that great.often using whatever material they could get; typically cheaply made Chinese and Pakistani Cordura esque material were used and stitching that wasn't that great (by American standards).

That is why we wanted to reproduce these vests here in the US with US Materials and US labor. These are 1:1 replicas of the original vest made by Black Ops Kandahar, except for higher quality. These vests are geared towards LARPers, Display makers and those who want a no frills plate carrier that won't break the bank. We're not trying to say these are the best plate carriers ever made; because they are not. These are an ode to the gear makers of the GWOT. This is our first release of many Afghan inspired designs and we hope you're just as excited as us!

Preorder opens tomorrow, 10/02/26 at noon EST.

An original Black Ops Kandahar Plate Carrier that we used to replicate our design with original Afghan made pouches. Used by a former 3rd SFG operator.
