Juneteenth is one of our favorite times to celebrate Black joy, Black culture, and the communities that make this little bookstore worth showing up for every single day 🤎

We commemorate this day as a reminder of our country's heritage, and how Black excellence, courage, and resilience have shaped our stories on and off the page.

None of us is free until all of us are free. This weekend, you'll find some of our favorite Black authors and vendors spotlighted on our shelves, and we encourage you to shop at your favorite Black-owned businesses today and always. Tag your favorite Black authors in the comments so we can all support them!

Have you noticed the flags found in books around the store?

Even before I opened the shop, I knew I wanted to mix all stories into their appropriate genres. Separating the gay books into their own section felt antithetical to our mission, and isolating to a core part of my identity.

I’m so grateful for my team, who pointed out that this made it harder for folks to find q***r books. So the flags were born! Whether you’re looking for sapphic, ace, or trans stories, look out for the corresponding flags to find books featuring q***r characters in the genres you love.

If you can’t find books with representation in your desired sub-genre, let our team know, and they’ll help you find something. If we’re out of stock, we’ll place a special order for you, & will purchase a few extra copies for anyone else looking for this in the future!
