Welcome Rachel!

Old Town Books is so excited to announce a new elf joining us for Elle Cosimano and Hannah Morrissey's author event for Home for the Homicides on October 15th at 7PM at the Lyceum! Rachel A. Dawson is a Richmond-based reader, writer, and content creator who believes recommending the perfect next read is a love language.

Calling new and expecting mothers and their partners! Notes to New Mothers is a brave, unexpected, and revelatory look at postpartum life. And Old Town Books Junior is thrilled to welcome Julie Buntin, Rebecca Knight, and Dr. Playforth on Friday, October 2nd to talk about the book and new motherhood!

Back when they had their first babies, Julie and Rebecca found themselves comparing notes on what, exactly, was going on in their postpartum bodies and minds. They realized there was no single comprehensive source for answers, so they invited 65 acclaimed writers and artists to riff on shared concerns.

We are all getting in the mood for I Am a Good Dog with Katherine Applegate and Gennifer Choldenko at Old Town Books Junior on September 29th! Swipe to see how even 's dogs are celebrating! 👉️🐶

Come at 6:30 PM for our public signing line with Katherine and Gennifer! You can bring up to two copies of any of their books from home to get signed and personalized, plus any number that you purchase in shop that night!

If you've been with us for a while, you'll know that Old Town Books is no stranger to renovation and construction. Which is part of why Maida Korte's story resonated with us so strongly and why we can't wait to welcome her to Old Town Books on Saturday, September 26th at 7 PM!

As a life-long city dweller, Maida was very hesitant to follow her husband's dreams of a house in the country. What started with trepidation continued with vulnerability, and as she continued to work on their Victorian farmhouse, Maida build more than just a home.

Come join us at 7 PM on September 26th to talk about making over an old house, remembering buried dreams, and more. Maida Korte will be in conversation with Kyoko Mori, author of Cat & Bird.
