It’s Bread Day at The Country Cupboard!
There’s something special about bringing home a loaf of fresh bread—especially when you can pick it up right here in Downtown Algoma.

On this Thursday, September 10, 2026, The Country Cupboard welcomes a fresh assortment from Nourish, and this week’s selection includes Traditional, Cheddar Chive, Jalapeño Cheddar, Caraway Sauerkraut, Lemon Blueberry, and more!

You can also pick up farm-fresh brown eggs while you’re there.

Stop in at 510 Fourth Street in Downtown Algoma, say hello, and take home something fresh and delicious. Store hours are 10 AM - 4 PM daily.

🍴 NEW EVENT: Taste of the Town – Best Appetizer in Algoma Faceoff!
Get ready to taste your way around Algoma! The Violence Intervention Project (VIP) and the City of Algoma's Community Development Committee are hosting the first Taste of the Town: Best Appetizer Faceoff on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 1–5 PM.

Purchase a $15 wristband to enjoy discounted appetizer bites at participating locations, then cast your vote for the best appetizer in town! The fun starts and ends at Algoma Pizza Bowl, 401 2nd Street.

Come hungry, discover some tasty local creations, and support a great community organization along the way!

Contestants (all located in Algoma, WI):

The Country Cupboard will have fresh baked Sourdough Bread today, from NOURISH Bread Company!! Open 10 to 4, at 510 Fourth Street in downtown Algoma. Several varieties are available!!

“It’s in the Freezer” and not enough room for anything else!! Sooo, The Country Cupboard is offering a $1.00 OFF all items in the freezer until the end of August!! The $1.00 OFF includes all Olde World Kringles, all flavors, all Sunflour Artisan Scone-4 packs, all Dobber’s Pasties, with extra discount on veggie pasties, available in beef and chicken, and all Nourish Sourdough Breads, our newest line of homemade, local, breads. Some items will be on sample, and there is no limit to the savings! Supplies of some items are limited, so check in early:)

I brought this Sourdough Pumpkin Streusel Bread with a maple glaze to work for my coworkers to try, and they LOVED it! 🤎

Curated and produced by the Community Improvement of Algoma (CIofA), the Algoma calendar features a different photo of the beauty that is Algoma each month.

The price is $15 each. Cash or checks made payable to Community Improvement of Algoma are accepted.

The CIofA’s mission is to promote community pride, preservation and economic growth through beautification, historic preservation, and community development. You can witness first-hand some of the beautification and preservation efforts by taking a stroll through downtown Algoma and take in the murals and historic walking tour.

In addition to the calendar, CIofA brings the community together with its annual car show in June and Wet Whistle W**e Fest in September (9/18 - 19/26). Learn more: https://www.algomaciofa.org.
