Made a little pit stop at the Adorni Vintage BMX Bike Museum in Port Clinton, Ohio today to drop off a few donations.

I’ve had these two original N.O.S. BMX jerseys and finally decided they deserved better than collecting dust next to a bunch of old motocross parts I keep telling myself I’m “definitely going to use someday.” 😂

They’re original, they’re NOS, and they’ve somehow survived all these years without getting stained, torn, raced in, or turned into shop rags — which is honestly a minor miracle.

Figured it was time to send them somewhere they can actually be appreciated and put on display.

Pretty cool knowing a couple pieces of vintage BMX history are going somewhere they belong.

After a few adult beverages and absolutely NO adult supervision… we made a purchase. 🍻

The ad said 13 feet tall. We thought, “Hell yeah. That’ll be hilarious at the races.”

Well… Apparently we either misunderstood the dimensions, underestimated 13 feet, or the b**r was doing the measuring.

It’s bigger than 13 feet. 😂

At this point, we’re not bringing a display to the races.

I really enjoy the challenge of recreating vintage gear and getting all those little details right.

The logo has to be the right size. The colors have to match. The placement has to look like it did back in the day.

I’ll have stuff on the sale rack at events because a color is 5% off or a logo is slightly the wrong size. Most people look at it and say, “What’s wrong with it?”

Nothing you’d probably ever notice.

But I noticed.

That’s half the fun of doing this for me. If I’m going to reproduce something from 30 or 40 years ago, I want it to look like it actually came from 30 or 40 years ago.

Retro Hats....

I love the retro look and vibe, but I don’t love spending a fortune to get it. I’m cheap — I’ll admit it. 😂

That’s actually how I approach most of the products we make at Retro Reproductions. I try to make stuff that I would actually buy myself: cool, authentic-looking, good quality, and reasonably priced.

I originally made these retro hats for Mid-Ohio Vintage Days, and they were a huge hit. Instead of expensive embroidery, we use high-quality transfers designed to have the look and dimension of embroidery. You still get that killer old-school embroidered-patch look without turning a hat into a $40 purchase.

Because as much as I love the ’80s and ’90s…

Cool retro stuff. Good quality. Fair price. That’s pretty much the whole idea.
