Have you heard of Dogust?
We just learned about it this year, but it’s been around since 2008 and was created by North Shore Animal League America to give a symbolic birthday of Aug 1 to shelter pets, many of whom were strays or rescues and their exact birthday is unknown. For our 2 sweet rescues we use their “gotcha” day as their birthday, and add 2 years as they were adults when we adopted them.
