At first glance, this Northwest Coast plaited red cedar storage basket may look simple. But woven into those cedar strips is a remarkable piece of Indigenous history.

Made from red cedar, a material central to many Northwest Coast cultures, baskets like this were valued for their strength, flexibility, and usefulness. A Masterpiece of Navajo Silversmithing

This remarkable circa 1935 Navajo ingot silver and copper cuff is a stunning example of the artistry that helped define the Golden Age of Navajo silversmithing.
