Pair of Heisey “Victorian” ( #1425) Stemmed Goblets.
The A.H. Heisey Company of Newark, Ohio, produced some of the most sought-after glassware of the American Elegant Glass era, known for brilliant clarity and crisp mold work. Their 'Victorian' pattern, also cataloged as number 1425, combined heavily textured block cutting on the lower bowl with refined smooth rims and distinctive textured ball elements on the stem. Introduced in the early decades of the 20th century (1910-1930), these heavy pressed pieces were designed to mimic the look of expensive European cut crystal while remaining accessible to middle-class households.
Production of the Victorian line spanned several years, with glassware manufactured using fine lime-potash metal that gave each piece a bright ring and substantial weight. The incorporation of textured stippling on the stem was a hallmark of Heisey's decorative vocabulary during this period, offering a tactile contrast to the geometric precision of the block-cut bowls. Today, these vintage goblets are prized by collectors for their durability and classic table presence. Mildly UV reactive under 365 black light.
