We are thrilled to welcome Dawn Scherr, fiber and textile artist and vintage material recycler, to the Art of the Woman family of artists! ✨

Creativity comes naturally to Dawn. For 30 years, she used her talents as a hairstylist to create beautiful new looks. Along the way, traveling across the U.S. and abroad, she gathered inspiration and skills from artists she met. Nicknamed “Auntie Do” by her nieces and nephews, Dawn learned to crochet, sew, and knit from her mother.

Today, she combines those skills with her love of vintage materials, finding beauty and purpose in everything from rag rug fibers and silk ties to beads and old sewing supplies. She weaves ribbons and rayon seam binding into beautiful, snazzy scarves and repurposes scraps into unique works of wearable art.

Please help us give Dawn a warm welcome! We can’t wait for you to discover her wonderful creations. 💛
