Woo-hoo! It all begins this coming Thursday 8/6 at 6:30pm - the Alma College MFA program in Creative Writing will be in residence and we will once again host their summer reading series here at Ballyhoo! These evening reading events are free and open to the public.
Please share this post widely and tell your friends. If you've not attended this series before - you're in for a treat! Each evening will feature two faculty members and/or guest writers who will read from their work. Following each reading the writers will be available to sign copies of their books...that we happen to have here available for purchase :)

All present and future Ballyhoo Board Game Night participants: after tonight's board game event, we are taking a brief hiatus and will not resume our regular board game event schedule until Friday, August 21. Ballyhoo will be hosting the Alma College MFA in Creative Writing program evening reading series from 8/6 through 8/14 (details on those events will be posted soon).

"Two humiliations. The most recent at a Sweet 16 birthday party and one long ago involving the purchase of Funk & Wagnalls encyclopedias. Marrying both of these with humor and heart, Joseph Passe, teacher, seeks to make a stirring defense of decency in his last class on his last day before retirement."
There is no charge for this performance. The show runs about 55 minutes.

Apologies for the impromptu last minute nature of this, but we hope you will join us this evening as we join many other nation-wide simultaneous readings of the Declaration of Independence. Please plan to arrive a bit early as the reading will begin at precisely 6pm. The event itself should not last more than 30 minutes.
