We would like to officially announce our closure. We had 5 wonderful years with this community and it will always be a grateful memory.
It wasn't the long winters, it wasn't the lost friendships, it wasn't the lack of appeal, it wasn't the long days, it wasn't the constant animosity from the "neighbors", it wasn't the lack of availability. It was the building.
After 5 years, over $75,000 in rent/maintenance, we could not get any assistance on any repairs or upgrades to the space. I was told to let the building collapse/catch fire so our insurance can be used to upgrade the space.
The worst of it?
Black mold throughout the entire building.
Our health has declined, as a family, the longer we spent time there. We were gaslighted for years saying that mold cannot exist at this elevation 🙄, (see comments for proof).
All in all, this was never a failure. We are forever grateful for the 152 locals that consigned with us over the years.
We will be taking a little time off for family this winter and are making plans for the next adventure!
