Besser Museum Gift Shop

The Besser Museum Gift Shop is located inside the Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan.

Everyone is welcome to shop when the Museum is open - no admission fee needed.

Have you visited our Discover Northeast Michigan History exhibit and admired the beautiful artwork by Anny Hubbard and David Dutcher? If so, you'll be happy to know you can now bring a piece of the exhibit home!

Our gift shop now carries all four prints: The North, The South, The East, and The West which are available for purchase in two sizes: 8"x 10" and 5" x 7".

Anny Hubbard is an Ojibwe artist from the Sault Ste. Marie area whose work reflects her Anishinaabe culture. Her paintings, displayed around the Medicine Wheel in the exhibit, add a meaningful perspective to the story of Northeast Michigan.

If you haven't had the opportunity to experience our new exhibit, we hope to see stop by soon to admire the artwork and learn about our local history.

It's National S'mores Day! 🍫🔥

Did you know the first recipe for S'mores appeared in a Girl Scout publication: Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts?

If you need some fun new ways to S'more your marshmallows for your next campfire, check out our new book, So Much S'More to Do, for fun and creative s'mores ideas. While you're at it, grab On A Stick Cookbook for even more tasty campfire recipes the whole family will love.

🚀 Counting down to the Artemis II splashdown? Turn the wait into an adventure at Besser Museum! 🌙

Stop by the Besser Museum for a fun and immersive planetarium show, where you can explore the same stars the astronauts saw on their journey to the Moon. After the show, explore our gift shop packed with space-themed books, toys, and fascinating guides that bring the universe a little closer to home. Don't forget to grab a sweet treat of Astronaut Ice Cream on your way out!

We got some new fun things at our gift store this past week! ☀️

One of the new items is a set of pretty coral pink mugs that add a nice pop of color. We also have a new postcard featuring the Second Avenue Bridge in downtown Alpena. The image used for the postcard comes from an illustrated postcard from our archive collection, which makes it a neat little piece of history.

Stop in and check out the new arrivals, buy one for yourself, or mail a little piece of Alpena to someone! 📬

Museum is open Monday-Saturday 10am to 5pm. Admission is free if you're just shopping. But since you're here, we'd ❤️you to visit the Season of Light Exhibits and be inspired by all the 🎄Christmas decorations🎄 on display. Museum Members get in free, along with children under 5, veterans & active military, & ACC students. Discounted rates for seniors and children.
