The "new" Hands To Work is now OPEN. Luckily, he was able to get the old phone number 708-489-9776. The new address is 12314 S. Cicero and is the unit next door to the old sub/train shop. Currently the hours are TU-TH 1p-7p, FR 11a-7p and SAT 10a-6p. He will have his own page and website shortly.

It is OFFICIAL! Hands To Work will continue on. The new owner signed a lease Saturday, and the work will begin shortly to clean-up the vacant unit. He is trying to get open around the second week of November! STAY TUNED!

GOOD NEWS! It appears we have a deal that will keep HTW in business. Tentatively, the new owner will sign a lease this weekend for the vacant unit NEXT DOOR at 12314 S. Cicero. Then in the coming weeks the shop should be OPEN. SAME NAME, SAME DISCOUNT STRUCTURE, AND CONSIGNMENT SALES! Stay tuned for more information.

We will be CLOSING EARLY TODAY at 3pm, Friday, Sept 3rd. We will be CLOSED through Monday Sept 6th. We will open at 10am on Tuesday, Sept. 7th. We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

It is with great sadness I must report that I am closing HTW after 21 years of business. I have sold the sub shop and there is no where for the train shop to go. I have tried to get someone to take it over, but no one is interested. I will truly miss all the GREAT people I have met! The memories from the Midlothian train show, to the first shop on 127th; to the awesome anniversary weeks, and even drinks after hours on Saturday nights. I cannot thank everyone enough for all the support and kindness I have received. My son James grew up with the shop, and a lot of you have seen him the whole time, from the young child running Thomas, to the avid photographer and CP modeler he is now. I have an opportunity to do something great for my family, and I must move on. All the merchandise is "On Sale" and must go; all preorders will be protected by Walt's Hobbies in Crest Hill. Our last day of operation is SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th. Again, thank you to all!

We are closing EARLY Friday, July 2nd at 3pm. We will be CLOSED Saturday July 3rd thru Monday, July 5th for Independence Day holiday weekend. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!

We will close early today, no later than 4 pm, as business dictates. We will be CLOSED for our annual THANKSGIVING BREAK until Monday Nov. 30th at 10 am. We wish everyone a blessed and safe holiday weekend and thank you for your continued support of our family business!
