Im sure the server also refilled your drinks and took your dirty dishes. This is why I over tip, because people are so cheap. I really cant afford it but ive been a server and I know how exhausting it is. If you cant tip AT LEAST 20% stay home and make your own dinner

I am weening myself off this tipping culture!!
This is breakfast buffet at a hotel. Party of 2. The Server brought tea and coffee. The rest of the meal was a buffet. I have moved to tipping $1 per item. So l tipped $2 total.
Last year, I would have tipped $10 just because it was expected. I am no longer blindly following made up rules just because someone wants me to and definitely not to bring out tea and coffee.
Let's keep it up and practice reducing our tipping.
