Selected yuccas and Texas Green Sotols are 25% off. Hot and dry weather continues this summer and Yuccas and Sotols are perfect for our climate. We are propagating tropical succulents and cactus, and receiving shipments of young succulents. Lots of choices! Come on in and visit!

Hot weather continues! Our feature this week is tree Yucca linearifolia, also known as Linear Leaf Yucca or Weeping Yucca. It is considered zone 7 winter hardy. Tracy has one in her backyard and it survived the brutal winter of 2021. Our current stock is from the same grower. Winter hardy yuccas, hesperaloes, agaves, and cactus can be planted in our hot summer weather and once established, have less water needs than most plantings. We offer a good selection of both large specimen yuccas and smaller sizes. Last week’s sale on selected yuccas continues. Come on in and take a look!

Hot summer days are here, and we’d like to talk about heat and drought tolerant yuccas. We offer a great selection of yucca varieties, both low and tree types. Yuccas can be planted any time of the year, including the hottest days of the summer. Banana yuccas (Yucca baccata) are a robust grower with beautiful flower stalks in the summer. Tracy took a photo of daughter Rikki, summer of 2019, at Long John Silver’s Restaurant, on South Western. Behind Rikki was a beautiful banana yucca, planted in the early ‘70’s and bulldozed spring of 2020. It was an impressive planting and we were sorry to see it gone. Yuccas can be long lived and easy care.
