Happy Holidays! Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza or the Winter Solistice this is a season of laughter, family, giving, & fun. My 8 year old grandchildren (twin girls) are as fascinated by the lights of Hannukah as they are the Baby Jesus or floating clay pots of candles on the water for Diwali Curiosity leads to understanding, understanding leads to love & fellowship. May your celebrations with family & friends be joyus and colorful> As Tiny Tim said,"God Bless Us Everyone!" Our store will be closed after Christmas Eve until Dec 30th, 11-5pm. Stop by and share some joy & friendship, and a cookie!

Saturday, October 29th: Happy Halloween Weekend! Did you check out our Halloween Spirit floating among books of scares and the super natural in our west window? We are still painting pumpkins this weekend with a $3 donation for materials. Bring down the kids, the grandkids, the neighbor kids, or yourself for some "non-candy" "All Hallows Eve" creativity! The sun is out and the colors are enjoying a last hurrah of brilliance. We're here until 5pm both Saturday & Sunday. Drinks & treats available.

Saturday, Oct 15th - Color Your World With Books! We are featuring many different genres in our windows this month. Novels, memoirs, mysteries! One featured group is a collection of "Hearty & Warm" cookbooks, perfect to explore as the temps begin to cool! Stop in 11-5 Saturday & 12 - 5 Sunday to find a new read to warm you as cold winds blow. We will be back open on Fridays 4 - 8pm starting Oct. 21st.

We are mental travelers this month at the Yellow Submarine, or at least planners! The West Window is full of travel writing, guides, ideas for next journeys. Even if I can't actually go on a journey, I like to read about the adventures of others. The East Window is currently displaying the memories and thoughts of others; garden writing, writing about writing, people who look to their farms & gardens for peace, travelers trying to discover a more tranquil life. Check out how another persons thoughts might help you find a more positive path to travel! Open for browsing & buying until 5pm, Saturday & Sundays! Thursday & Friday evenings until 8pm.

Jan 22, 2022 - Let it be cold, cold, cold!!!! Temp was zero this morning! Why should readers leave their cozy chairs to come to the Yellow Submarine?? Many new-to-us books have arrived in the past couple of weeks. Novels, cook books, gardening, history! Come browse in our warm stacks. Sit for a while in one of our comfy chairs with a new-to-you or old favorite book. Come and talk books! Our windows have been iced over, but this month we focused on health & wellness for the new year. Diet & exercise are usually on everyone's resolution list. Read instead of munch, listen while you stretch. Look for the yellow flag!
