Come meet Cindi Lagoudakis at Cabin Fever on Friday, 4-8pm. Cindi is a talented photographer, linocut printer and mixed media collage artist. We find her work to be joyful, interesting and absolutely Alaskan. She finds inspiration all around her in her home of Petersburg, Alaska. And while we picked several bird pieces to highlight, her works go far beyond the avian!

We just finished making a bunch of the Alaska Criss Cross Table Runner Quilt Kits!

The Alaska Criss Cross Table Runner Quilt Kit is a Cabin Fever exclusive design featuring Aurora Borealis fabrics designed by the amazing Alaskan artist Dawn Gerety. The kit includes everything you need to make the front:

-Alaska Criss Cross Pattern - a Cabin Fever original designed by Alaskan fiber artist Elise Rose,
-Alaskan artist Dawn Gerety’s Aurora Borealis fabrics, and
one yard white winter swirls fabric for the borders.

You add the batting and backing, plus your labor, to produce a beautiful table runner or wall hanging sure to brighten up the darkest days of winter!

We are thrilled to introduce our new Alpine Bloom Hat Kits! We are huge fans of Alaskan designer Caitlin Hunter. She celebrates Alaska in new and interesting ways in her knitting patterns. We've paired Caitlin's Alpine Bloom Hat Pattern with our Wooly Mammoth superwash merino wool in these hat kits in two color ways: Raspberries & Cream and Blueberries & Gold.

The kits have enough yarn to make two hats each: one for you and a friend, as well as the pattern. Needles in US size 3 and 5 are sold separately if you need them.

Kokum Scarf/Babushka fabrics have just arrived!

Alaska has long ties with Russia and Ukraine stemming from Russians exploring and colonizing in Alaska as early as the mod-1600s. You’ll see evidence of this all across coastal Alaska in the form of Russian Orthodox churches and Old Believer communities. You’ll also see Kokum scarves, Babushka’s or Granny scarves.

Kokum is the Cree word for Grandmother. The fabric collection was inspired by, and connects to the colorful floral scarfs that were traded between Ukrainian women settlers and Indigenous women.

Our friend Elizabeth of Elizabeth’s Studio Fabrics is Ukranian and has designed and produced these beautiful Kokum Scarf fabrics that we are delighted to share with you.

The Big Dipper Hat is back! This might be our most popular hat kit ever. We sold out of them almost immediately when we stocked them earlier this year.

This kit features our in-house Wooly Mammoth yarn that is hand-dyed in Anchorage in Glacier and Sitka Spruce, and the Big Dipper Pattern. There is enough yarn in this kit to make two Big Dipper Hats so you can make one for yourself and one for a friend.

We recommend 16 inch circular needles in US 6 or 4.5mm. Needles are not included but we carry them in case you need them.
