Fundraising for my multimedia Iñupiaq language curriculum project! This will help with production and hard costs (editing software subscriptions, printing/proofing, labor, compensation for fluent speakers to edit, immersion practice)

USA only - cannot ship seal skin to another country. Maklaks are made by my sister Adrian Scott, who has started learning to sew in the past year or two. She graciously made these to support my Iñupiaq language work.

Inuit individuals, organizations, or collectives can apply for up to $150,000 USD to host a gathering that brings Inuit together from Alaska, Canada, and Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland) to build relationships, share knowledge, and collectively shape the future of our communities.

yet another step in my project! So far, I’ve shown a few steps here: collecting the vocabulary/content (studying is the hardest part), designing it out then audio/video recording and editing. It really takes a LOT of time!!

This doesn’t even include the administrative side, fundraising and money making (usually with unrelated contracts)… on top of it, I put this work into practice with my great-niece and also check in with fluent speakers. I’m fundraising now because it’ll help give me more time to focus on the language and project rather than trying to make ends meet with distractions.

Uvlulluataq! I've started a GoFundMe to hep with the costs of productions, subscriptions and the labor (of love) for a multimedia Iñupiaq language curriculum. This work will soon be shared for free to the public, but the expenses are starting to affect my financial stability (I've spent 300+ hours working on it so far!).
