Ever cooked with cactus leaf? 🌵
Don’t let it intimidate you. It’s actually super simple.
Give it a quick scrape to remove the spines, trim the edges, and slice it up. Once cooked, the texture is tender with a bright, slightly citrusy flavor.
Add it to:
• scrambled eggs or omelettes
• tacos or fajitas
• sautéed veggie mixes
• fresh salsas
• soups and stews as a natural thickener
It’s been used in traditional cooking for generations and is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidant support. We’ve got some at Johnny’s. Grab one and try something new this week.

All of these boxes were inspired by our favorite family meals✨

Johnny’s Produce is a locally owned family business and every subscription box reflects that. These boxes come from the way we actually cook at home. They are built with the same care we put into feeding our own families and filled with the ingredients we trust in our own kitchens.

You’ll find local staples like Alaska Range Dairy, Pam’s Carrots, Alaska Flour Company, and Polaris Farm eggs. When you subscribe, you get peak season freshness, real convenience, and the comfort of knowing your money is supporting Alaska growers, makers, and small businesses.

What you can expect
• Pick up weekly or every other week
• Add on local milk, local eggs, and a rotating selection of Alaska made goods
• Subscriptions available in Anchorage, Eagle River, Wasilla, Palmer, and Seward and we are prepping to expand across Alaska.

This month, our yearly favorite is back – the Dragon Apple Crisp Smoothie. 🐉🍏

We start with Japanese Dragon Apples, known for their perfectly crisp bite and delicate sweetness, blending them with toasted pecans, naturally sweet dates, warming cinnamon, a hint of pure vanilla, and creamy almond milk. It’s the ultimate cozy-meets-refreshing flavor – like your favorite holiday dessert in smoothie form.

Stop by and sip on this once-a-year favorite – simply irresistible is putting it lightly.
