Barney's Sports Chalet Established in 1963, Barney's Sports Chalet is a specialized retail store in Anchorage, Alaska.

During summer and fall months, our storefront features premier hunting gear including backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, clothing, and other equipment. All of these products are chosen or designed for Alaskan hunters and adventurers who demand the best. During winter months, Barney’s Sports Chalet is a nordic ski specialty shop.

The FGOAK Wooly Mammoth takes two materials that have been debated in outdoor shops forever, wool and fleece, and puts them to work together.

The main body is made with Pontetorto Techno Wool, giving you a wool outer face backed by brushed fleece. It's warm, comfortable, and built with the kind of details that matter when you're actually using it in the field. High wear areas are reinforced with Schoeller fabric, while Polartec Power Stretch side panels add mobility and ventilation. It's become a favorite with sheep hunters and bush pilots.

An old-school concept with a much more technical build, and one of our favorite layering pieces from Frontier Gear of Alaska.

After enough days in the field, everyone figures out what works and what isn't worth packing. What meal or food do you always bring on a hunt? Maybe it's something you've eaten a hundred times, or something you came up with because you got tired of the usual freeze dried options. Someone out there could use some inspiration. 😂
