📚 STAFF PICK 📚

As we head into the spooky season, there's one book that stuck with us: The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones! We loved his recent anthology, Never Whistle at Night, and this full-length novel is Graham Jones at the top of his game. It's a book that grabs you by the throat and won't let you go. And just when you think you can take a breath – watch out! If you like a good scare, come on down to snap up a copy of The Only Good Indians!

Multiple staff had read this recently and really liked it (can be found on Angela's, Courtney's, and Jeremiah's shelves)

🤝 🧡 I've had the chance to work with some incredible local businesses this year, and I wanted to share a few of my favorites to showcase the work!

It's so cool to meet and collaborate with the people behind these businesses; one of the best perks of being in Alaska's small business community!

Each project came with its own goals, personality, and challenges...and each site was custom-built to match.

Title Wave Books - The state's largest bookstore of new and used books, featuring Alaskan authors!

Reimers Micro Farm - Providing high-quality farm products such as lamb meat, wool, and sheep milk. They also offer farm tours at their grounds in Meadow Lakes!

Kijik Technical Services - A technical trail-building and construction services company connected to Kijik Corporation and the Lake Clark community. Very cool people to work with!

9 to 5 Day celebrates the hardworking volunteers, community partners, and supporters who help bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to children across Alaska.

More than 15,000 children in over 140 Alaska communities receive a free, high-quality book in the mail each month from birth to age five through our network of local affiliates and partnership with Best Beginnings. These books help parents build home libraries, create joyful reading routines, and support their child’s early learning. Giving parents the tools they need to be their child’s first and most important teacher.

Join us on September 23rd for our kickoff event BOOKS & BOTTLES at Title Wave in Anchorage from 7-9 P.M. This is an evening of pure bookish joy, wine tasting, and delightful treats. Tickets are FREE but you must grab a spot because spots are limited!
