Don’t ever put rice or potato’s(peels) down your garbage disposal. It will clog your drain lines. Garbage disposals are meant for small amounts of food on the dishes, not food you pull out of the fridge and should be thrown in the garbage.

I had to take out an ice machine to work on. Whoever installed it, never cut a hole in the wall to get the drain tube out. Had to pull out the fridge and cut a hole through the cabinets just to get it out. Some jobs are not as simple as one would think.
