The 2026 pumpkin plunder has happened. 🎃😂

One of our favorite fall traditions — getting turned loose to dig through bins and hand-pick our favorites one by one.

And you know us… we’re not looking for perfect rows of matching orange pumpkins. Give us the warty ones, the striped ones, the blue-green ones, the peachy ones and ALL the wonderfully weird ones. 💚

We filled our BIG cardboard bin for the Station plus three bushels of little pumpkins for our upcoming SOLD OUT Succulent Pumpkin Make n’ Take. 🌵🎃

The big guys will be unloaded, priced and ready for pumpkin picking Tuesday morning!

Fall is officially arriving at the Station. 🍂🎃

Now if someone could just let the weather know… because this hot and humid business is NOT understanding the assignment. 😂🥵

Okay, Plant Bingo friends — remember the Lifesaver Cactus we were talking about Thursday night? 😂

Well, here’s mine at home doing its thing.

This thing has grown CRAZY this summer — and now it’s blooming like crazy too. I was trying to explain Thursday night just how cool these weird little blooms are, but really… you just have to see them. Look at those things! 😍 They really do look like little lifesavers tucked down in all those wild stems.

And because apparently the plant itself wasn’t quirky enough, mine lives in this old vintage bird/chicken planter that I’ve had forever. 😂

We have a few little 4” Lifesaver Cactus at the Station right now if Thursday night’s conversation made you curious.

Consider this your Saturday morning dose of plants are just so dang cool. 💚🌿

Apparently it wasn’t hot enough already. 🔥😂🐦

It has been SO incredibly hot lately. We’ve been watering like crazy trying to keep everything from drying out, and our backyard birds have to be feeling it just like we are.

So everybody got a fresh refill before the weekend — loose seed in the feeder, Bugs, Nuts & Fruit in the little cylinder, and a big ol’ Flaming Hot Feast cake. 💚

And speaking of HOT… Flaming Hot Feast is FINALLY back in stock at the Station! We’ve been out of the bagged seed for over a month, and apparently it really is a hot item. 😂🔥

Keep those feeders full, add some fresh water, and somebody PLEASE tell fall we’re ready.

📦 CALLING ALL BOX HOARDERS! 😂

You know who you are. The ones with a perfectly good stack of shipping boxes tucked in the garage because surely somebody will need these someday.

TODAY IS YOUR DAY. 😂🙌

Our first load of terracotta jack-o'-lanterns arrives Wednesday, and this delivery is all PREORDERS — which means we have a whole lot of pumpkins to safely box up and get ready for pickup. 🎃

If you have clean, sturdy, medium-sized boxes hanging around, we'd LOVE to take them off your hands! Drop them by the Station during open hours — or leave them by the 3rd bay after hours. 💚

Preorder folks: once your pumpkin is here and ready to go, we'll send your invoice and pickup information.

And if you missed the preorder, don't panic — our pumpkins for the shop floor are expected late next week! 🎃

Okay, we’ve been sitting on some pretty exciting news. 💚🏆

Our friend Robin was sweet enough to let us know the other day that City Seed had been named WINNER of Garden Center/Nursery in the 2026 Anderson Community’s Choice Awards — and somewhere between prepping for all the things happening at the Station Friday and Saturday and actually getting through the weekend... we never shared it. 😂

So first, a special thank-you to Robin for making sure we knew! And a few days late but no less excited...

THANK YOU, ANDERSON!

We did smile a little at the category. We often explain that City Seed is a little different from what you might picture when you hear “nursery.” We don’t have the trees and shrubs people sometimes call looking for, but we DO have a whole lot of plants — along with seeds, pottery, garden goods, gifts, classes and all the other things we manage to tuck into our little Station. 🌿

So to have our community choose City Seed as the Garden Center/Nursery winner is pretty darn special. We’ll VERY happily take it!

We love that our little Station in downtown Anderson has become a place where so many of you come back again and again — to shop, learn something new, take a class, play a round (or five!) of Plant Bingo or just wander around and see what’s new.

Thank you for shopping small, trusting us with your gardens and continuing to make this little former gas station such a special place.

We are incredibly grateful.

Happy Monday! 💚

If you stopped by the Station Saturday, you likely saw our big cypress table in full party mode! 🪴🎉 We had the sweetest group celebrating Karen’s surprise birthday — and surprise really does mean surprise. Karen didn’t know a thing! 😂

Thirteen ladies, lots of laughter, a table full of tropicals, and thirteen little potted gardens headed home by 1 o’clock. 🌿

A special thank-you to the ladies who planned it all and somehow managed to keep Karen completely in the dark! You pulled off such a fun surprise, and we loved getting to be a little part of it.

Happy Birthday, Karen! We hope you felt very celebrated. 💚
