Some believe that World Chocolate Day is celebrated annually on July 7, commemorating the date chocolate was first introduced to Europe in 1550. It is a global celebration encouraging people to indulge in their favorite cocoa-based treats, from chocolate bars and truffles to hot chocolate and baked goods.

The History of Chocolate: Before it was the sweet treat we know and love today, chocolate was consumed for centuries in Mesoamerica as a bitter, spicy, frothy beverage called xocolatl. Cacao beans were even used as currency by the Aztecs. It wasn't until Europeans sweetened the recipe and Joseph Fry invented the solid chocolate bar in 1847 that it became a mass-market confection.

As summer warms up, why not come on by and try out some of our newer treats:

We've just released two new flavors of our CocoFusion Bars launching our Savory Sensations line. The fresh, citrusy flavor of the Lemon Thyme bar is absolutely delightful! If you prefer a bit of bite to your chocolate, you've got to try the Passion Fruit Habanero flavor. Sweet, fruity, and just a little kick brings this flavor profile to the top of our list.

Want a s'mores but don't want the campfire? Our S'mores Bites have that same great flavor incorporating graham cracker cereal, mini marshmallows, and our great, high quality chocolate into delicious, easy to snack bites.
