We had the special privilege of being sponsored by Wheatland Dog Center to participate in the Midwest Battle Buddies Charity Golf Tournament at Terradyne Country Club.

What an amazing event for an even better cause. Midwest Battle Buddies is a fantastic organization that works to improve the health and well-being of veterans with PTS, TBI, and other disabilities by providing and training service dogs at no cost to the veterans.

It became our mission to go out and not only represent Shotgun Start Golf Co. but also our sponsor who had put so much faith into us. Of course it still came as a complete shock to hear that we took 1st Place overall.

🇺🇲🍺In honor of 'Merica turning 250 years old, we have partnered with a great Veteran-owned brewery to help us say thank you to those who have served our country. Shotgun Start Golf Co. will be purchasing the first 25 beers to kickstart this event. Please share this event to get the word out. Let's pay it forward to the brave men and women that help make this possible.

🇺🇲🍺From opening of business to the brewery on Friday, July 3rd, 2026 at NOON, until close (9pm) Sunday, July 5th, 2027 any local veteran can swing into the brewery and grab a pint paid for by SSGC and other donating members. Veterans enjoying the Beer will have option to write their name down on a "Thank You" note to be posted on a dedicated wall in the brewery as well as take their picture and tag Shotgun Start Golf Co. and FlappyDuck Brewery to be shared to our social media accounts to be honored for their service.

We also understand that some veterans made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and cannot enjoy the delicious beverage. If this rings true, we do invite spouses or immediate family members (1 per fallen soldier) the same opportunity to drink one in their honor.

Of course, we encourage everyone to stop by, enjoy a cold one, and raise a glass in honor of the brave men and women who have served our country. We are forever grateful for their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting our freedoms. 🇺🇲🍺

The United States Golf Association docked Joaquín Niemann two strokes for throwing a club during the opening round. He responded by shooting a 5-under 65 in the second round.
