Transition is not easy for horses. For their humans, it was overwhelming. The need for relocation was sudden, filled with challenges. It was also unexpectedly costly.

All of the horses incurred medical expenses. Covering those expenses, on top of those related to the move, became impossible.

Becky’s Gift assisted with the necessary veterinary care, helping to ease some of the burden. We wish the horses continued recovery. We wish our clients the best as they begin new journeys.

This was a hard situation that will require healing on many levels. But out of darkness light is emerging. We’re not here to judge. We’re here to help. Our focus is and always will be our clients.

(This post is for current and future clients...).

“I feel bad using funds that could help other horses”. We hear this often. It makes it that much harder to ask for help. It minimizes one’s own needs, as if somehow YOUR needs are less important than those of others.

You are experiencing some form of upheaval in your life. With a heap of stress piled on. Whether the need is 10 bales of hay, or urgent veterinary care, there’s something happening that stands in the way. That’s created this hard situation. And that’s why we’re here.

You’re not asking for help for yourself. You’re asking for your horse, i.e., advocating. It’s the fortunate horse that has an owner caring enough to set aside their own feelings and do that. It’s when the ask doesn’t happen that bad outcomes can arise.

We’ll say it again. It’s not for you. It’s for your horse. You are JUST AS WORTHY as anyone else. Please cut and paste that last sentence.
