Rental Shop Technician Forman/Lead

Job Summary:

Technician Forman will be the head of our rental shop technicians, leading a staff of 5-8 employees. This position will report to the store manager and will have oversight by the store owners.

Mountain Sports of Angel Fire is looking for a full-time seasonal lead to work in our often-fast paced rental environment. We are a full-service sporting goods store including ski and snowboard rentals during the winter months. We are seeking team members that are looking for an opportunity to interact with customers and deliver a clean and friendly environment. Our store is located in the heart of Angel Fire, NM on Mountain View Blvd.

Job Requirements:

· Must have worked in a ski shop for at least 2 years with tuning and rental experience

· Average computer skills – all process (rental/return) are automated

· Must have strong communication and problem solving skills

· Must have reliable transportation (we are always open even during snowstorms) and be able to work weekends and holidays

· Must treat our guest/customers with respect

· Must be able to pass binding certification with all manufacturers

· Must be able to routinely pick up 25-50lbs.

· Must have a positive attitude and encourage staff during stressful events

· Must be prompt when scheduled for work, but also flexible to cover shifts if employees are unavailable.

· Will have responsibility for managing staff

o Hiring/Firing

o Setting schedule

o Training new employees / Retraining as necessary

Job Duties:

· Greet guest and explain rental process

· Fit rental equipment (Boots, Ski/Snowboard, set bindings, helmets, etc.)

· Adjust/test equipment to ensure it meets our highest standards

· Emphasize return process and timeframe with customers

· Daily tuning of equipment (wax skis/snowboards, wash boots, service machines)

· Ability to converse with customers about the area and answer questions

· Handle unique situations and potential problem customers

We offer competitive pay based on experience and an end of ski season bonus of $2.00/hour for every hour you worked during the season. This is a full time seasonal position. As a resort location we are open during all holidays and run normal business hours of 8am – 6pm from December through March.
