Former NFL lineman Robert Gallery has spoken openly about the severe mental health and brain-injury symptoms he faced after football, including depression and suicidal thoughts; one played in his head on repeat: "I should step in front of a semi-truck."

Gallery says ibogaine treatment in Mexico changed his life and stopped all the symptoms: anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, rage, brain fog, and constant ringing in his ears.

Gallery is now listed as co-founder and CEO of Athletes for Care, and the organization says his experience with ibogaine shaped that mission.
