Today's Meet the Maker spotlight is on one of our artists, Kristy!
Kristy is a wife and mom who has loved beautiful art her entire life. She admires great art, from museum masterpieces to the beauty of God's creation.
For many years, she has enjoyed creating art alongside her seven children, making everything from handprint crafts, leaf rubbings, and nature sketches to homemade science projects, May Day baskets, slime, and gardens. She also organized crafts and projects with her sons' Cub Scout troops, as well as service projects and crafts with her daughters and church community.
As her children have grown, she has had the opportunity to focus on her own artistic journey, discovering a passion for painting in her favorite medium—oil. She primarily paints florals (her favorite subject!), but also enjoys painting farm animals, birds, barns, and landscapes.
Her business name, Oils and Pearls, combines two of her favorite things: oil painting and pearls, her favorite jewelry to wear whenever she gets the chance!
