It is day two of Walls of Books Science Fiction Sale! 🚀✨ From today through Tuesday, September 15th all new Sci-Fi books are 10% off and all used Sci-fi books are 25% off. James Islington, author of 'The Will of the Many' and 'The Shadow of What Was Lost', has just released his Sci-Fi debut: 'Scion.' One of our booksellers, Kelsi, has read and reviewed the cyberpunk thriller:

"'Scion' by James Islington is a witty and fast-paced sci-fi thriller novella that is reminiscent of many classic sci-fi works, such as 'The Terminator' and 'Blade Runner.' The setting of the novel is a dystopian, technology-saturated future where cities are controlled by the greed of corrupt corporations. It follows genetically augmented assassin, Azure, as he acts as a bodyguard for a reticent client who claims to have information on Azure’s mysterious past. The dynamic between the pair is incredibly amusing as Azure is cold, clinical, and sarcastic, and the client is sociable, accident-prone, and sassy. The heart of the novel is definitely the dark sense of humor that is imbued in the character interactions and the tongue-in-cheek gratuitous violence.

James Islington briefly explores many concepts such as the consequences of the Lifers’ immortality, the ramifications of bio-augmented life, and the overpopulated, weather-ravaged world governed by semi-automated technology that I think could have been expanded upon in a full-length novel; hopefully, the story and universe will be further developed if 'Scion' becomes a series. At times, I was more interested in some of the side characters, such as Verity and Chandra, than Azure himself and would like to see their stories elaborated on. Overall, 'Scion' was action-packed, entertaining, twisty, and a fun read!" - Kelsi 🤖🧬

We recently got in many used Dav Pilkey graphic novels in great condition including the smash hit series Dog Man! 📚 🐈 They are priced at $6.97 each and store credit can be applied to them. We will have them displayed up front through the rest of this weekend for whoever is interested in them 🐶💥
