Hey all you outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen—had to share this before I get buried in my next project.

I’ve been working on my grandfather’s old 1957 Marlin 336 SC (.30/30). Great rifle, tons of history—but it needed a little modernization. First upgrade: sights.

Like most people, I hit Google and ended up finding XS Sights. The Picatinny rail (ML6004R-N) caught my eye since it opens up a ton of optic options.

I’ll be honest—I wasn’t sure it would fit. This rifle is OLD, and most listings seem geared toward the newer Ruger-made Marlins. I took a chance anyway and ordered it late one night.

When it showed up, first impression: excellent craftsmanship and finish. I lined it up with the rifle, checked the taper and mounting holes… looked promising, but I still had questions.

So I called XS Sights—and this is where they really stood out. No endless forms, no waiting days for an email. A real person answered, walked me through everything, and even gave me a few install tips I wouldn’t have thought of.

That kind of customer service is rare these days.

Bottom line: great product, great support, and a solid upgrade option whether you’re running an older Marlin like mine or something newer.
