🦌 MINNESOTA DEER HUNTERS — DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE!
The Minnesota DNR is encouraging hunters to buy their deer licenses early this year as everyone gets accustomed to the state’s new electronic licensing system.
The new system is up and running, but your first transaction may take a little longer than you’re used to. Some hunters may also need assistance from the DNR License Center if they had multiple records in the old system.
Last year, nearly 140,000 deer licenses were purchased during the Thursday and Friday immediately before the fi****ms opener. With more than 400,000 hunters expected to participate this year, getting your license early can help you avoid last-minute problems.
📅 2026 Fi****ms Deer Opener: Saturday, November 7
Licenses can be purchased:
📱 Through the Minnesota DNR Licensing app
💻 Online at mndnr.gov/buyalicense
🏪 In person at participating license agents
You can carry your license as a paper copy, PDF, or electronically in the app.
Our advice: Take care of it now and make one less thing to worry about when deer season arrives.
