A Little Encouragement From ET CETERA 🪵✨

Sometimes, the piece you're working on doesn't look like much. It's scratched, worn, and rough around the edges.

For a moment, you might wonder if it's worth the effort.
But keep sanding.
Keep shaping.
Keep believing in what it can become.

Because sometimes the most beautiful things are hiding underneath the surface. Life can be that way too. There will be seasons when you feel worn down, uncertain, or like you're not making much progress. But God isn't finished with you.

He's still shaping you.
Still refining you.
Still working in the places you can't see.

Don't give up just because you can't see the finished piece yet.
Trust the process.
Trust the timing.
And most importantly, trust the One holding the plan. 🤍

"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion..." — Philippians 1:6

Whatever you're working through today, keep going. Your story isn't finished yet. đź’•

✨ Welcome to Et Cetera ✨

We believe beautiful things deserve a second chance. 🤎

At Et Cetera, we take forgotten, outdated, and sometimes downright ugly furniture and give it a little love, a little creativity, and a whole new purpose. Because every piece has a story—and sometimes, the best stories get a second chapter.

Refinishing beauty. Preserving stories. ✨

We’re so excited to share this journey with you! Follow along to see the before & afters, the transformations, and all the little details that make each piece unique. 🩷

Welcome to Et Cetera.
Where old pieces find new life. 🌿

Some things are meant to last.

A well-made piece of furniture.
A handwritten recipe.
A family photograph.
A story passed down from one generation to the next.
A lesson taught by a parent.
A love that doesn't disappear with time.

At ET CETERA, we love taking something old and giving it new life—but perhaps what we love most is the reminder that old doesn't mean worthless. Sometimes the things that have been around the longest are the things that mean the most.

Daddy is living proof of that. 🤎 After 92 years, his hands still create, his heart still loves deeply, and his faith still guides him.

And we hope that every piece that leaves our family carries a little bit of that same spirit:
Made with care.
Built with purpose.
Created with love.

"But the greatest of these is love." — 1 Corinthians 13:13

Before ET CETERA had a name… there was just Daddy and his girls learning how to live life together.

There were projects to figure out, tools to learn, things that didn't always go according to plan—and plenty of laughter along the way. 🪵❤️

Daddy didn't just teach Judy and Leigh how to work with wood.

He taught them how to build.

How to be patient when something doesn't fit quite right.

How to work through the difficult parts.

How to appreciate the beauty in something that takes time.

And perhaps most importantly, he showed them what it looks like to work with love in your heart and Jesus in your soul.

Perhaps one of the greatest lessons is this: You don't have to be in a hurry to live a meaningful life. There is beauty in taking your time.

In sitting on the porch.
In working with your hands.
In watching the birds.
In sharing a cup of coffee.
In laughing with your family.

Daddy reminds us that sometimes... being present is enough.

We're thankful for the lessons that only a lifetime can teach. ❤️

Some things are built with wood.
Some things are built with love.
And the most beautiful things are built with both. 🤎

Daddy gave his girls a love for creating with their hands, but God gave them something even more precious—a bond that has carried them through a lifetime.

Judy and Leigh aren't simply sisters.
They're partners.
They're friends.
They're "his girls."
And they're part of the heart of ET CETERA.

Just like woodworking, family takes patience. It takes sanding down the rough edges. It takes knowing when to hold tight and when to let go. It takes grace when things don't fit perfectly. And thankfully, we have a God who specializes in grace.

The greatest things aren't always made by perfect hands. They're made by loving hearts, willing hands, and a God who knows exactly what He's building. 🤍

Meet “Annabelle” 🩵

She was thrown away and left to be forgotten - but old treasures NEVER go to waste in this work shop.

We can’t wait to show you the final result.

Just like the way Jesus puts us back together when we’re broken, this work of art will slowly come together over the next few days.

QUESTION of the day❓❔

If you could keep one family heirloom forever, what would it be?

A rocking chair?
A recipe?
A handmade quilt?
Daddy’s tools?
An old family Bible?
Something else?

Some things are valuable not because of what they’re worth… but because of the stories they carry.

Tell us yours in the comments—we’d love to hear it. 🤍

Sometimes paint doesn't cooperate. Sometimes projects surprise us. Sometimes mistakes become the most beautiful part.

Life with Jesus looks a lot like that. Grace has a way of turning our mistakes into something unexpectedly beautiful.
