Fun Art Fact Friday!

Studio spaces used to be an essential part of being a painter, as artists often had to mix their own paint and needed the space for equipment. Painters would use what they had available to them for pigment, which explains the naming of specific colors such as “Lamp black” and “indigo” being made from soot off oil lamps and indigo flowers respectively.

August the rushing month, get those garages cleaned out, take those last minute vacations. This week take a break and enjoy some beautiful art from Donna Budzynski.

Q 7. What currently motivates you?
I love working with clay and now that Halloween season is upon us, I am up to my witchy ways creating some fun Halloween art.

Q 8. How has your work evolved?
I am not sure that it has evolved as much as I can’t seem to stay with one medium.

Q 9. Do you have 1 primary art form or multiple?
My primary would be painting with clay sculpting a very close 2nd.

Q 10. Do you have a favorite piece?
So many favorites, I believe my favorite is whatever I am working on now.

This second week of the Artist of the Month Donna Budzynski! Her art spans over many styles and mediums.

Q 4. Why/How did you start creating?

Why, I have never been able to sit idle. Need to be doing something all the time. How? A pack of crayons, I’m sure. My Dad had a Model Marine shop while I was growing up and would sometimes give me string art kits to do for samples at the store.

Q 5. Who or what inspired you to pursue art?

I have always wanted to pursue art; I have always done it.
I will say that my oldest daughter told me I should put my work out
Into the world. That year I applied for juried art fairs and I got in! I had no idea what I was getting into! LOL! But my first show was amazing, and I was met with so many I LOVE your art I was flabbergasted!

Q 6. If any, what outside influences shape your art?

I love the weird art, wonky art and even dare I say graffiti….not the tag graffiti, the kind that has all the colors and meaning.
